The waiter says "enjoy your meal". You say "you too". He will not be enjoying a meal. You think about it for the rest of yours, and again in 2034. Someone across the street waves. You wave back, big and warm. They were waving at the person behind you. You turn the wave into fixing your hair, which nobody, in the history of hair, has believed. You say a lovely goodbye to a colleague at the lift, with a little joke. Then you both walk to the same station, on the same side of the road, for nine minutes. An unknown number rings. You let it ring out, then text "sorry, did someone call?" because talking is too much. It was the dentist. You now owe the dentist an email. **Why it caught on:** the penguin turning awkwardly sideways is a National Geographic photo cut out on a blue background. Nothing in any of these is a disaster and nobody noticed but you, which is exactly what everyone replays at night.
